1st District of Idaho

Idaho's First Congressional District stretches from the border with Nevada north to the border with Canada.The District includes 19 counties, with major metropolitan areas, farm communities and some of the nation's most spectacular public lands.

The District has been represented in the past by several notable Idaho leaders, including Compton White Sr. and Compton White Junior, as well as the first female federal office-holder from Idaho, Gracie Pfost. Three men who represented the First District -- James McClure, Steve Symms and Larry Craig -- later went on to serve in the U.S. Senate, and the current governor, C.L. "Butch" Otter, also served Idaho's First District.
